South African immigration questions
Choosing immigration assistance
Reading an explanation, organising your questions and obtaining advice on your circumstances are different jobs. Decide which job you need help with, then ask a provider exactly what they do, who does it and what remains your responsibility.

Name the job before choosing help
You may still be researching, preparing for a conversation or looking for an individual question to be reviewed. Those needs can overlap, but a broad label such as “help with immigration” makes scope difficult to compare. Write down the decision you need support making.

If you need information
Ask whether an existing guide answers the question and where its information comes from. Check the date, geographical scope and limits. A general explanation can improve your questions without resolving your personal circumstances.
If you need help getting organised
Ask what practical output you will receive: for example, an organised question list or an explanation of agreed responsibilities. Do not assume administrative assistance includes legal advice or that a checklist has been reviewed for your case.
If you need individual advice
Ask who will advise on your particular question, what their professional role covers and how you can verify that role. Confirm the scope and engagement before relying on an answer. If the question falls outside the provider’s remit, ask where it should be directed.
Compare with the same questions
- What task will you perform, and what will I receive?
- Who is responsible, and how can I verify their role?
- What information do you need, and how will it be handled?
- What is excluded, and which responsibilities stay with me?
- How is the fee tied to the scope, and which costs need separate confirmation?
Look for clarity rather than certainty
A promise of an outcome does not explain the work being sold. Ask what can be checked, what remains uncertain and who makes the relevant decision. This site does not rank providers or guarantee an immigration outcome.
Do you need to buy more help now?
If your immediate question can be answered by a reliable general resource, start there. If your circumstances need individual review, more general reading may not resolve the uncertainty. Match the next action to the question rather than buying a larger package by default.
